1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of rockydrivingschools.com and your enrolment in any course provided by Rocky Driving School (“Rocky”, “we”, “us”). By enrolling, paying fees or using this website, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. Enrolling with us

To enrol you must meet the minimum legal age set by NTSA for the class of licence you are training for, hold any provisional licence your course requires, provide valid identification, be medically fit to operate the class of vehicle you will train on, and give us accurate information. Providing false information is grounds for termination without refund. Rocky reserves the right to decline any enrolment.

3. Our courses

Rocky offers licence training including Light Motorcycle, Tuk Tuk, Manual Vehicle, Automatic Vehicle, Light Truck, Matatu, Minibus and PSV, Heavy Trucks and Trailers, and training for Persons with Disabilities. We also offer professional programmes including Foundational and Advanced Defensive Driving, Motorcycle Defensive Riding, Executive Chauffeur Development, Customer Service for Transport Professionals, and School Transport Safety and Warden Training.

Course duration, lesson count, content and fees vary by course and by branch, and are confirmed to you in writing at enrolment. Where anything differs, your written enrolment confirmation prevails over information shown elsewhere, including on this website.

4. What we provide — and what we do not

We provide qualified instructors, roadworthy and insured training vehicles, structured lessons, progress assessment, and a certificate of completion where you meet the standard.

We cannot provide or guarantee:

A driving licence. Rocky trains; NTSA tests and licenses. We have no influence over NTSA’s decisions.
A pass. Completing a Rocky course does not guarantee you will pass an NTSA test.
A specific instructor, unless separately agreed in writing.
Specific lesson times beyond what is agreed and available at your branch.

5. Lessons and scheduling

Enrolment is confirmed once the required fee or deposit is paid and your documents are submitted. Lessons are scheduled with your branch and may be adjusted by agreement. You must arrive on time and in a fit state to drive. You may not attend a lesson under the influence of alcohol or any substance that impairs driving — an instructor may cancel the lesson on those grounds and that lesson is forfeited. The period within which your course must be completed is confirmed at enrolment.

6. Fees and payment

Fees may be paid by M-PESA Paybill 183138 (account name: Rocky Mkononi), using the student’s full name as the account number, or at any Rocky branch.

Never send fees to a personal phone number or an individual’s account. Rocky will only ever ask you to pay through the channels above. If someone asks you to pay any other way, it is not us — call 0702 55 22 22 immediately.

Send your payment details to Rocky for verification and we will issue an official receipt once your payment is matched to our records. Keep it — it is your proof of payment. Fees may change, but a change never affects a course already paid for in full. Where fees are paid in instalments we may suspend lessons until an overdue balance is settled, and certificates are issued only when a course is paid in full.

7. Refunds, transfers and cancellations

Our current refund, transfer and cancellation terms — including any notice periods, administration fees and non-refundable government or registration charges — are confirmed to you in writing at enrolment. Please ask your branch for them before you pay, and keep a copy.

If you cannot attend a scheduled lesson, tell your branch as far in advance as possible so it can be rescheduled. Lessons missed without notice may be forfeited. If Rocky cancels a lesson, we reschedule it at no charge to you. If Rocky is unable to deliver a course you have paid for, you may choose a refund of the undelivered portion or a transfer to another course or branch of equivalent value.

8. Your conduct

While training with us you must follow your instructor’s directions at all times, obey all traffic laws, treat instructors, staff and other students with respect, not use a mobile phone while driving, and report any accident, damage or incident immediately.

We may suspend or terminate your enrolment without refund for abusive or threatening behaviour, driving under the influence, deliberate damage to a vehicle, falsifying documents, or any conduct that endangers others.

9. Vehicles, insurance and accidents

Rocky training vehicles are insured for instructional use with a qualified instructor present. You are covered by that insurance only while under instruction, in a Rocky vehicle, with a Rocky instructor. You must report any accident or damage to your instructor and your branch immediately. Where damage results from your deliberate act, gross negligence or breach of section 8 of these terms, you may be liable for the resulting costs; your branch will explain the position that applies to your course.

10. Personal belongings

Rocky is not responsible for loss of or damage to personal property left in a training vehicle or at a branch, except where caused by our negligence.

11. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded under Kenyan law.

Subject to that, our total liability arising out of or in connection with your course is limited to the total fees you paid for that course. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of earnings or costs arising from a delayed or unsuccessful NTSA test.

12. Using this website

The content, design, logo, photographs and text on this website belong to Rocky Driving School or our licensors, and may not be reproduced commercially without written permission. You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of this website or use it in a way that damages or impairs it. Course information on this site is given in good faith but may change; your written enrolment confirmation is what binds us.

13. Complaints and disputes

Please speak to your branch manager first — most issues are resolved there. If that does not resolve it, write to info@rockyschool.co.ke and we will respond as quickly as we can. If a matter remains unresolved, the parties shall attempt to settle it by negotiation, and failing that by mediation, before commencing proceedings.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have exclusive jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force when you enrol is the version that applies to your course.
